Voice changer software or equipment?

can anyone recommend a good and easy to learn voice changer software that produces realistic sounding voices that you dont need a Ph.d to learn how to use. Or a good quality external hardware voice changer. I bought one particular external hardware one but it was not very good and sounded very computerized especially on the male to female setting.
