How is maths(or geometry)used in monuments?

This determines some of the best shapes or ratios to use, such as parabolas for thrown objects. The most famous is the Golden Ratio, which is the rectangle with the sides ratio that looks most pleasant to the eye. There are also ratios for statues, head : body and etc.
