Help! What kind of tape can I use to secure my lighting in my car?

I jsut bought this thin tube lighting, that I am putting on the interior of my car. I am attaching it with clear silicone. Since the silicone doesn't dry on contact, I wanted to tape it in place. So far, I have tried scotch tape, mailing tape, and the white tape...nothing will stuck to my dash! help!
