NFL playoff seedings?

Ok so with the nfl playoffs just around the corner there is something that is really bothering me with the seeding. I learned in the AFC west if the chargers win they will make the playoffs with an 8-8 record. Even if Denver wins they will make it in with a 9-7 record. That is so stupid because look at the AFC East. New England, Miami, and the NYJ all have winning records and all 3 of them have records much better than denver and san diego. Miami and New England are 10-5 and NY is 9-6. And 2 of those 3 teams are not going to make the playoffs and they would have better records that both Denver and San Diego. That just isn't fair and shouldn't happen. They work harder and have a better season yet they don't get in. If San Diego gets in with an 8-8 record i think that will just be an absolute disgrace to the NFL, They will probably be one of the worst team to ever make the playoffs! Neither the chargers or broncos should be in with they way they have played yet 1 of them will make it and 2 of the AFC East teams that should be in will be out. The NFL should just take the 6 best records from each Conference thats way fair, let your record determine if you get in I mean look at the AFC west common on absolutely horrible?? What is the reasoning behind this stupid format??
