Who were the first firefighters to help cities? aka the first firemen?

Romans were the first organized Fire brigades. the very first were slaves pressed into service by an Aedile, but I couldn't tell you who. The first semi professional brigades were called the Vigiles Urbani, or it might have been Urbani Vigiles I don't speak old Roman. They were the ones who organized the first fire stations and in general created the basic structure of the fire department that we still use today.
