What does give an editorial opinion mean???

because i have to do an ignment for english 2, and we have to give our editorial opinion on a news article/event and i have no idea what to do!!!! he didnt explain things to us and i had NO time to ask him about it! please help and maybe give me an example on how to do this! (it has to be half a page by the way)
