Narcotics officer? Advice?

i want to become a Narcotic Officer when i grow up. im 13 entering Highschool. And i do know a few cops myself. What steps can i take now That will help me in the future, ( ex: physical outdoors, sports, talking to officers, ETC). also, what do you need to have to become one? What are the risks of becoming a Narcotics Officer/ Det. I really want to become one of those because one of my teachers have inspired me to become one because he is a cop.
