Can you have a grade 3 Ankle sprain with no swelling?

My foot and ankle hurts like a b*tch and it is cold and shakes when i try to sleep. it kills to put weight on it and i cant pinpoint where it hurts since my whole foot feels like its hurting when you touch it. I have no bruising or swelling thoug. i hurt my ankle a year ago and have the exact same symptoms xcept this time i have to bruising or swelling. What do you think is wrong?
