Can I put my biscuit dough in the fridge for a couple hours?

I'm making simple garlic and cheddar biscuits tonight...you know er, flour, baking soda ect. There is no yeast or anything in it and I was just wondering if it would ruin my biscuits if I left them in the fridge for a couple hours so I could bake them right before dinner in order for them to be hott and freeshh!!
